SOUTHWESTERN '07 RULES

1. All clothing, lodges and accouterments must be pre-1840. Absolutely no modern footwear or sunglasses of any kind, unless medically required. Doctor documentation must be available. Period eye wear is encouraged for those wearing glasses. Primitive attire required at all times starting March 16, including set up and tear down.
2. All modern items (coolers, bottles, cans, plastic, etc.) must be kept out of sight at all times.
3. Early set up starts Wednesday, March 14 th . Gate hours during early set up will be from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. GATE HOURS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. There will be a one hour time limit for loading and unloading starting March 16 th . Gate hours starting March 16 th as stated on front of flyer.
4. Opening ceremony will be Friday, March 16 th at 7:00 PM. Period dress is required.
5. Fires must be contained in a pit large enough to hold the fire and must be attended at all times. A minimum of 2 gallons of water in an open, period type container must be kept within 5 feet of the fire pit specifically for fire control. No cutting of live trees or brush for firewood. Fill and level your fire pit when you leave. Please ask someone to show you how to cut the sod for replacement if you don't know. DO NOT bury trash or partially burned wood. NO Coleman lanterns or charcoal lighter fluids. Campsites must be left in “as found” condition.
6. Horses, mules and oxen are permitted. Current health and Negative Coggins Certifications will be required. There will be a separate area for camping with your animals under the supervision of a Captain of Horse Camp. Dogs, cats, and other animals will be allowed only if they are on a leash AND under control at all times. You are responsible in all ways for the health, safety and conduct of your animals. If the animal roams, bites, disturbs others, or barks a lot, be prepared to take the animal(s) home. Better yet, leave them home. ALL ANIMAL poop in camp must be cleaned up well enough for barefoot campers and children. Make sure your animals are tolerant of strange sights, loud sounds and noises, and the chaos of rendezvous. If you have ANY doubts, DON'T bring them
7. Artillery will be permitted at designated areas only. Safety inspections by the artillery range Officer is required before firing. Range Officer has the final say
8. The safety and conduct of all children under the age of 18 is the responsibility of their parent(s). Use of firearms, tomahawk, knife and other weapons or tools require the direct supervision of a responsible adult. This includes the use of practice blocks and practice shooting. Eye and hearing protection is suggested for all juniors on the firing line.
9. Medical devices: special considerations will be made with regard to possession and use of flammable liquids and gases. Doctor documentation for the need of sush items must be available.
10. A modern camping area will be made available in the parking lot for non period camping. NO facilities will be provided, however.
11. Ice will be brought into camp daily for sale. Please bring period covering to transport the bags through camp. You are responsible for putting your trash in the provided dumpster. All trash must be in plastic bags for disposal. Use period covering to transport trash through camp. DO NOT burn trash in fire pits. Please preserve our reputation by cleaning your campsite. Policing of refuse, especially cigarette butts, is up to you. Do not litter at any time. Leave your area in the same or better condition as when you arrived.
12. Photography equipment must be covered when not in use. ABSOLUTELY NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY.
13. Your registration fees entitles you entrance into all events, seminars, competitions and camp feast. Preregistration ends February 26, 2007. All preregistrations received after this date will be returned to sender and you will be required to pay the regular registration at the gate.
14. A TRADER IS any person who sets up a shelter, lodge, blanket, hide, or table with goods for sale, trade, or barter. All traders are required to pay the trader fee. Any taxes due or licenses required are the responsibility of the trader. All traders, dealers, or possessors of furs, claws, feathers, or other animals parts are responsible for confirming and complying with all requirements of the state game commission and federal and state laws. Traders arriving after March 16 must comply with the one hour vehicle restriction. PLAN ACCORDINGLY. There will be a trade committee to inspect trade items. Be prepared.
15. Absolutely NO modern firearms for sale or trade anywhere at the rendezvous. No throwing of knives, tomahawks, shooting of bows, or use of whips in camp except in designated areas. ABSOLUTELY NO loaded, primed, or capped firearms in camp. Smoking and intoxicants not allowed in or near the ranges. Any decision by Range Officers regarding any aspect of range rules, including scoring, conduct, and safety is FINAL. Eye and hearing protection encouraged on the firing line.
16. Infraction of camp rules may result in eviction from the rendezvous and forfeiture of all fees.
17. All questions about these cam prules should be referred to the Head Dog Soldier
18. Thievery, fighting & illegal substance use of any kind will NOT be tolerated! Violators will be turned over to the State police. The sale, trade, or barter of alcohol is prohibited by the State and these rules.
